Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about Andaman ferries, permits, the best time to visit, payments and cancellations.
Ferry travel
How do I book a ferry ticket with you?
Search your route, date and passengers on our Ferry Booking page, choose a sailing and seat class, enter your name, email and mobile number, and pay securely online. We then confirm your seats with the operator and send your e-ticket by email and WhatsApp.
How quickly will I get confirmation?
After payment we confirm your seats with the ferry operator and send your e-ticket, usually within 2 hours during working hours (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM IST). If your chosen sailing is full, we offer the nearest alternative or a full refund. In peak season (December–January) popular sailings sell out fast, so we recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks ahead.
What documents do I need for ferry travel?
Every adult must carry an original government photo ID – Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence – and the name must match the ticket. Foreign nationals must carry their passport. For children, a school ID or birth certificate is recommended.
How early should I reach the jetty?
Please arrive at least 45–60 minutes before departure for check-in and security. In Port Blair, most private ferries leave from Haddo Wharf and government ferries from Phoenix Bay Jetty. Your ticket shows the exact jetty.
What is the baggage allowance on ferries?
It varies by operator. Private ferries usually allow around 20–25 kg of check-in luggage plus one small cabin bag per passenger, and charge for excess baggage. We will confirm the exact allowance with your ticket.
Do children and infants need a ticket?
Children usually need their own ticket, while infants under 2 years travel free or for a small fee depending on the operator. Please share the ages of all children when booking so we can issue the correct tickets.
What happens if a ferry is cancelled due to bad weather?
Ferry operations depend on weather and port authority clearance. If the operator cancels a sailing, you will be offered a refund or rebooking as per the operator's policy, and we will help rearrange your hotels and transfers. We recommend keeping a buffer day before your flight home.
Planning your trip
What is the best time to visit the Andaman Islands?
October to May is the best time, with calm seas and good visibility for snorkeling and diving. December to March is peak season. During the monsoon (June to September) heavy rain can cause ferry cancellations and some water activities close.
Do I need a permit to visit the Andaman Islands?
Indian citizens do not need a permit for Port Blair, Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) or Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep). Tribal reserves and some restricted areas are off-limits to all visitors. Foreign nationals should check the latest entry rules with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration before travel; we are happy to guide you.
Is scuba diving safe for non-swimmers?
Yes. Introductory dives are done with certified instructors in shallow water, and you do not need to know how to swim. You will be asked to fill in a short medical form. Avoid flying for at least 24 hours after diving, so plan your dive early in the trip.
Is mobile network and internet available on the islands?
Jio, Airtel and BSNL work in Port Blair, Havelock and Neil, but data can be slow or patchy, especially on Neil Island. Keep offline copies of your tickets and hotel vouchers.
Are ATMs and card payments available?
Port Blair and Havelock have ATMs and most hotels accept cards and UPI. Neil Island has very few ATMs and they can run out of cash, so carry some cash for small shops and local transport.
Bookings & payments
How do I pay for my booking?
All bookings are paid on our secure payment page, powered by Razorpay, using UPI, debit or credit cards, net banking or wallets. Ferry tickets are paid in full. Packages are booked with an advance payment, and the balance is paid once we confirm your trip. We will never ask for your card PIN, CVV or OTP.
Are package prices per person?
Yes. “Starting from” prices are per person on a twin-sharing basis for standard hotel categories in the low season. Your final quote depends on dates, hotel category and group size, and GST is extra as applicable.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes. Use our Manage Booking page or message us on WhatsApp with your booking ID. Charges depend on the ferry operator's or hotel's rules and how close to departure you cancel. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Do you only book ferries or complete holidays?
Both. You can book a ferry ticket on its own, or book one of our holiday packages, which include hotels, ferries, transfers and sightseeing. Packages can also be customised for your dates and budget.
